Night Traveler

EeTD78NU4AALtNO

Into the heart of the dark woods, she saunters

where the ravens of Odin watching, ascending

the stairways of shadows hanging over the trees;

In the trail of the terrible mystery, she travels

with the hounds of Artemis howling, descending

The mountains of memories scattered on the grounds;

Where she goes, she knows not

But the fate of a ghost she knows;

Wandering by day, haunting at night

Always a stranger among strangers,

a changeling belonging to naught

Drifting into the maze, she follows.

  1. Your poem is hauntingly beautiful and profoundly romantic, Stephanie! πŸ‘πŸ’™βœ¨

    The allusion to Artemis is exceptionally fitting, and your rich metaphors create a magnificent world under the starry skies: ”The mountains of memories scattered on the grounds…”
    These verses remind me of my dreams – at night, I often have visions of flying above the places dear to my heart, feeling nostalgia and freedom simultaneously.

    1. Thank you, Veronica 😊 We are a coterie of Artemis, following her in the trail of the eternal quest for the truth of the universe.πŸŒ• We are hunting high and low with a pen as an artifact of capturing the beauty of the things in the world. Maybe that’s why my poems are a combination of pathos and romance, although it is never premeditated. It comes from my instinctual response to the desire of the heart to express my inner self and the satisfaction of Reason that urges me to vent it out. I am glad that you share my sentiments on nostalgia that can only exist in our Elysium of fancy where our spirits fly boundless! βοΈπŸ¦„πŸ§šβ€β™€οΈ

        I have fallen in love with the ambience of your poetry – the way you intertwine Romanticism and the musings of your ethereal soul fascinates me!😌
        Hopefully, we will return to the Elysium of our dreams.✨
