Listen as the night
Falls to the ocean
And drapes twilight
With stars and a moon;
The tumbling waves
Become tamed tides,
The souls of the dead
Begin to walk across
The moonlit waters
Wandering ever in vain
Till they return home.
Listen as the night
Falls to the ocean
And drapes twilight
With stars and a moon;
The tumbling waves
Become tamed tides,
The souls of the dead
Begin to walk across
The moonlit waters
Wandering ever in vain
Till they return home.
Her spirit flits in the Garden of Sense
Over the Arch of Rainbows in the Ether
where the Unicorn gallops in rhythms
and flies away toward the sun yonder
to carry her spirit to the Elysian Fields
in the ecstasy of heavenly melody.
The polyphony of waves
Writhes her with the fugue
Of endless dreams and hopes
In staccatos of unquiet passion
As she gathers the tesserae
In the unfinished mosaic
Of memories of marbles,
Pearls and opals, analcastic.
The dewdrops from the leaves
Of the grass across the meadows
Beneath a winter sun in pale hues
sparkle over the liquid arc of rainbows
reflected on the crystal windows
of her palace like ropes of diamonds.
The sun drives his golden chariot
Into the west of the mountain
Carrying the day’s memories
Over to the end of the misty horizon
As she watches the declination
Sitting on the top of the hill alone.
The high stars met in Jupiter’s ascendancy
Of Power, Beauty, Resilience, and Valor
Whirling in passionate, ebullient brilliancy
Of divine celestial fire in terrible wonder
When the Eternal Archer riding on Pegasus
With Magical Arrows of Arts aiming restlessly
Across Elysian Fields, through Mount Olympus
Hunted high and low for the Universal Melody
In a rapt silence of sound wrapped in solitude
Amid the symphony of sounds in magnitude.
