Still yearning
Still learning
The eager heart
Even for the fate
Riddled with
Tangled plagues
Keeps the eyes
At the stars above
And soars, falls
Falls and soars
With neverending
Aspiration to fly
Across the sky
Even on one
Winged foot.

Still yearning
Still learning
The eager heart
Even for the fate
Riddled with
Tangled plagues
Keeps the eyes
At the stars above
And soars, falls
Falls and soars
With neverending
Aspiration to fly
Across the sky
Even on one
Winged foot.

A fire ablaze
Saving grace
Of humanity
Guard it always
With all might!
Or you’ll let loose
Of the other horse
On your chariot
Wild and furious
Without the force
Of the wise horse
And return once
To the island anon
Of the lord of the flies

The feral boy
Wolf raised
Man-cub Mowgli
Knew the play
Of jungle law
In the animal
Family of freedom
Under nature’s rules,
Whereas the poor
Orphaned boy Kim
Found no friends
In the city of man.

I’d rather be a witch
Without a family
Solitary but lovely
With no one to claim
Not even one to lose
Than be a materfamilias
With no sign of tenderness
Not even a hint of softness
As if it were a mark of weakness.
I won’t belong to a matriarchy.

One more chance
and the soul’s deep
misery in the abyss
would be beatitude;
Universe!
Save the soul
in bottomless watery
fit where no light dares
to reach, not even God
cares to send his grace
to the despondent
whose prayer for his
grace is a turn of the screw.
