Still yearning
Still learning
The eager heart
Even for the fate
Riddled with
Tangled plagues
Keeps the eyes
At the stars above
And soars, falls
Falls and soars
With neverending
Aspiration to fly
Across the sky
Even on one
Winged foot.

Still yearning
Still learning
The eager heart
Even for the fate
Riddled with
Tangled plagues
Keeps the eyes
At the stars above
And soars, falls
Falls and soars
With neverending
Aspiration to fly
Across the sky
Even on one
Winged foot.

One more chance
and the soul’s deep
misery in the abyss
would be beatitude;
Universe!
Save the soul
in bottomless watery
fit where no light dares
to reach, not even God
cares to send his grace
to the despondent
whose prayer for his
grace is a turn of the screw.

Happiness is her
coveted poetry
She’s kept away
From writing
Without knowing
The face of love
She’s seen only
As in lovers’ faces
Harvesting sunshine
Reflecting starlight
With a fragrance
Of a perfumed powder
She bought a long ago.

Cruel truths are
Neither kind nor
Justified under
The pretext of love
Gnawing the spirit
Conversant with
The finer tissues
Of the heart’s chamber
When you assail it
And munch the heartstrings
Because the truths are
Not true, and you know it.

Whirling, wheeling
Swirling, swiveling
A cyclone of discord
Brings a vortex of chaos
Into the palace of the soul
Shaking the caryatids
Carrying the dome of hopes
Frescoed with memories,
Whereas the Queen weeping
Stands up to fate alone
In the ruins of yesterdays.
